Time to act to eliminate PFAS

Despite have central authority central regulator under the Hazardous Substances Law, the Ministry of Environment is failing to lead on the eradication of PFAS chemical compounds found in drinking water and in fire retardants.

PFAS are found in water, air, fish, and soil, as well as in food products. Globally, governments are introducing strategies to reduce the risk to human health, but Israeli authorities have failed to take action.

Adam Teva V’Din is demanding that the Ministry of Environmental Protection take action without further delay on implementing a strategy for reducing PFAS compounds through stringent regulation, as applied to all industrial chemicals.
