Adam Teva V&#8217;Din was invited to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adam Teva V\u2019Din\u2019s deputy director, attorney <strong>Tammy Gannot<\/strong>, reminded committee members that the government is <a href=\"https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/en\/news_and_updates\/climate-bill-under-review-prior-to-2nd-reading-meets-fierce-opposition-on-all-fronts\/\">pushing ahead with a legislative bill that<\/a>, in reality, is a dangerous placebo and an \u2018empty vessel\u2019. Gannot told the Committee:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe government\u2019s bill gives the impression that \u2018something is being done\u2019 about the climate crisis, but in reality, the bill is a collection of non-binding targets that can be amended by the State. This bill has no teeth whatsoever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The March 2024 report, the second audit by the State Comptroller, reveals that 69% of government ministries \u2013 a significant majority \u2013 believe that the government\u2019s handling of the climate issue is \u2018not good\u2019. Moreover, 86% of the official entities assessed admit that they have not prepared Adaptation Plans.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:31% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"766\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tammy-in-knesset-766x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5324 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tammy-in-knesset-766x1024.jpg 766w, https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tammy-in-knesset-600x802.jpg 600w, https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tammy-in-knesset-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tammy-in-knesset-768x1026.jpg 768w, https:\/\/adamteva.org.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/tammy-in-knesset.jpg 970w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201c<\/strong>The Finance Ministry is supposed to coordinate and lead these actions, under the pending climate bill.
