In 2023, the government approved Resolution 592, which required a strategic plan to address transboundary environmental hazards in the Judea and Samaria region. A team was to be established within 60 days and the plan presented by January 2024. Nearly two years later, no such plan has been formulated or published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Comptroller reports in 2017 and 2023 highlighted the urgent need for a systematic policy on environmental management in the region. They noted over 50,000 public complaints<\/strong> about air pollution and odors from burning waste, while revealing that 40% of Israel\u2019s electronic waste<\/strong> is smuggled into Palestinian Authority territories, where much of it is openly burned. Instead of confronting this scourge, the government continues to drag its feet. We demand immediate action to stop this serious hazard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We call on the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Environmental Protection to immediately carry out Resolution 592 and deliver a strategic plan for managing cross-border environmental hazards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
