Dear Friends of Israel’s Environment,
Thank you for your continued support of the U.S.-based Friends of Israel’s Environment (FIE). As you know, FIE provides financial and policy support to Adam Teva V’Din (the Israel Union for Environmental Defense) which is widely recognized as one of the most effective and important environmental organizations in Israel. Since its founding in 1990, Adam Teva V’Din has been a tireless advocate for strengthening environmental laws to protect our beloved Israel, including major achievements related to clean air, coastal protection, water quality, contaminated sites, plastics regulation and many others. Over the last several years, Adam Teva V’Din has also been at the forefront of advocating for a comprehensive climate law.
Since the horrible events of October 7th and the war in Israel, Adam Teva V’Din has been assisting in countless ways, large and small. One particularly meaningful contribution: the Israeli government recently asked Adam Teva V’Din to provide policy expertise to assist with the sustainable rebuilding of towns, villages and kibbutzim in the south of Israel. Adam Teva V’Din’s assistance to the ‘Tkuma’ program will be critical to ensuring the revival of Israel is done in an environmentally sensitive manner including everything from the safe disposal of contaminated debris, to the expansion of infrastructure for solar power, to the protection of drinking water resources. In this way, Adam Teva V’Din is working tirelessly to rebuild Israel in a way that is smart and sustainable.
Adam Teva V’Din is also continuing its many efforts to ensure that Israel is a leader in climate policy, including becoming net zero by mid-century and positioning Israel to be at the forefront of climate-related innovation and green technology.
While we pray for security and peace for Israel, we also reassert our commitment to important environmental issues and a sustainable future, for Israel and the world. Thus, as you consider your year-end giving, please also consider a generous tax-deductible contribution to Friends of Israel’s Environment.
Please also feel free to reach out if you would like to become involved in our efforts.
Many thanks,
Brian D. Israel – Chair, Friends of Israel’s Environment
