After months of unwarranted delay, the Minister of Environmental Protection, Idid Silman, approved Tel Aviv Municipality’s plan to reduce air pollution near the Central Bus Station, after Adam Teva V’Din informed the Ministry that a second legal petition was in preparation.
Under the Clean Air Law (2011) the Environment Minister has personal responsibility under the law for approving and monitoring air pollution reduction plans. For reasons unknown, the Minister delayed by months her formal approval.
In the meantime, Tel Aviv Municipality has become implementing the plan that aims to reduce the volume of buses accessing the bus station.

Attorney Bar Rozov, head of the Legal Department at Adam Teva V’Din, emphasized: “We will continue to act as environmental watchdog and monitor the full implementation of the air pollution reduction plan for the benefit of residents who have suffered for years from intolerable and harmful air pollution.”
