Relief to Galilee families from stench episodes

Owners of mushroom farm must resolve the problem before expanding its business

Thanks to a planning objection filed by Adam Teva V’Din and Citizens of the Environment – supported by over 300 Jewish, Arab, and Druze families – the mushroom farm at Moshav Hosen is prohibited from increasing production until measures are implemented to eliminate the severe odor it emits.

Ortal Sanker, an environmental justice attorney at Adam Teva V’Din, stated, “Olfactory pollution at the levels caused by the farm has subject local residents to physical discomfort for years. We will continue to oversee the resolution of problem, and will demand proof that the General Administration of Public Works has verified that neighboring communities will no longer be subject to recurring stench episodes.”

It is a basic right of all people to enjoy a safe and pollution-free environment.
