Litigation – The Minister of Environmental Protection has responded to our lawsuit in the High Court of Justice on October 18. She states that, as the law requires, she will include 1.5 liter ‘family-size’ bottles in the Beverage Container Law. This is an important victory for which Adam Teva V’Din and a significant landmark in the elimination of plastic waste from the Israeli environment. After a 12-month transition period, giant crushing machines will replace the current 24,000 street collection cages. Consumers will benefit from a refund of 30 agorot (9 cents) on each bottle brought to the crushers.
